This is the title of a not so great Jackie Chan movie that came out many years ago and we just never have really gotten over watching. I won’t go into the details of the movie at all. It’s just a great question to ask ourselves.

So much of our life we spend seeking to define ourselves by establishing our identities through accomplishments, relationships, and occupations. Often the world helps us along in that through its own methods inclusive of failures, accidents, and general discouragement.

I have struggled for decades to define and then redefine my life all over again. In the end, though, I wind up with the same guy facing me when I take that gander in the mirror each morning. That is the same guy on the outside. In reality, that guy usually looks worse each day. On the inside, however, it’s afamilyweb.JPG different story. I am a believer in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who himself is God. He died for me to be a sacrifice for my sins and because of the faith I have in him I have been forgiven.  I became one with him and was filled with his Spirit. I am going to live forever with him in heaven after this physical body of mine wears out and it dies. He makes me new with each new day.

I have been blessed to be his ambassador to the Watchi people of southern Togo in West Africa since 1997. It has been an incredible adventure that I have been privaledged to share with my lovely bride Louise and our four sons.

Share in our adventure with us as we muse together ten minutes or so at a time.

    Marty and Louise,
You are continually in my thoughts and my prayers. I am blessed to find a means to communicate with you. I have spent some time reading your newsletters and blogs -wow! You know how I wish this was the life I could share with you. Maybe since it is just the girls and me we can spend some time there..the Lord willing.
